Letter Of Protection Coverage
A Letter of Protection (LOP) is a document used in personal injury cases, typically when someone has been injured due to an accident, and they need medical treatment but cannot afford to pay upfront. The LOP essentially guarantees the payment of medical bills to healthcare providers, including acupuncture, from the settlement or verdict of the case once it’s resolved.
In the context of acupuncture coverage, a Letter of Protection can be particularly useful. When a person involved in a personal injury case seeks acupuncture treatment for pain management, rehabilitation, or healing, the healthcare provider (in this case, the acupuncturist) may agree to provide treatment without immediate payment, understanding that the bill will be paid once the case is settled or won. Here’s how it works:
Settlement or Judgment Payment: Once the legal case is resolved, the acupuncturist will receive payment directly from the settlement or award from the case, as specified in the Letter of Protection. This avoids the need for the patient to pay upfront.
Agreement between Attorney, Client, and Provider: The injured person’s attorney may negotiate with the acupuncture clinic or practitioner, who will then agree to provide the acupuncture services on the condition that payment will come from the personal injury settlement or judgment.
Protection for Acupuncturist: The LOP protects the acupuncturist by ensuring they will be compensated for their services once the legal case concludes. This allows them to treat the patient without worrying about non-payment.
No Immediate Financial Burden on Patient: The injured person is relieved from having to pay for acupuncture treatment out of pocket while their case is still ongoing. This is especially important for patients who might not have the financial means to pay for treatment upfront but still require care.
How To get Started
Please email us your Letter of Protection or have your lawyers send one to us. From here we will send you paper work about your case and injuries and get you scheduled! Its important to note that payments for LOP and cash pay services vary. We look forward to helping you navigate your health during these difficult times.
What To expect
During an acupuncture session, you’ll typically lie down in a relaxed setting while the practitioner inserts very thin, sterile needles into specific points on your body. The needles may remain in place for 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the treatment plan. Most people report feeling little to no discomfort, and many experience a deep sense of relaxation during the treatment.
While acupuncture has been shown to provide relief for many, the number of sessions required can vary based on the condition being treated. Some individuals experience immediate benefits, while others may need a series of treatments for optimal results.

Lets work together
Your body was made to heal itself and thankfully we get to use traditional Chinese medicine as a tool to remind the body.
